Classes

Iruka Judokwai wants to make judo enjoyable for all, providing a safe environment to allow each player to develop at the rate that suits them, whether that is trying judo for the first time at one of our training sessions, becoming a regular player, or progressing to competitions.

Iruka is a club which provides an opportunity for all of those who wish to "give it a go".  Judo is like any other sport - you won't know how good it is until you try it!  To join a session or for more information please contact the Club Secretary, Carol Walker here.

Sessions take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Field Junior School Annexe, Elfrida Road, Watford WD18 0AZ.

Junior Sessions, 18.15 to 19.45 - £4.00 for one session, or £6.50 for both sessions in one week

Senior Sessions (16+), 20.00 to 21.30 - £4.50 for one session, or £7.50 for both sessions in one week

During the classes the Club regularly undertakes grading sessions for participants to progress.  For more information on grading please see the BJA website.

Iruka also actively promotes participation in competitions.  A full list of upcoming competitions can be found here.  Please see Barry or Carol to submit an entry for a competition.

All players must hold a licence with the BJA, and this should be obtained no more than one month from the date of joining.  Adult licences are £45.00 and junior licences are £34.00, however there are other introductory memberships available.  Please ask an instructor for advice; an application can be made online at the BJA website.
